Do girls like intelligent guys ?

Personally (Im a guy) I find guys who always talk too pionately about certain things (math, science wtever) very annoying. Dont get me wrong I was valedictorian at my high school and have a 3.8 gpa in college. But when conversing with ppl i like general things. I dont like talking about academic stuff unless its directly related to our life . what do girls think? also...whats more appealing? an Arty guy or a technical/geeky guy?
