How to tame my hair!?

I have the thickest hair possible, it's terrible. I have a combination of thick, coarse, curly, BEASTLY hair. It's terrible because its so out there and i'm so little, how do i tame it? I've gotten it thinned out a few monthes ago, and im not getting a haircut for a few more monthes, so what do i do? I already straighten it once - twice a week, i got a reverse perm, and its still growing out, so i cant curl it without my hair looking like dread locks. HELP!!
